Past Installation

Land of the Living

Display Year:

2025

This installation featured everyday objects—shoes, birdhouses, old toys, silk flowers, lawn ornaments, and more, invoking ideas of home and personal memories. By day, viewers recognized familiar items that evoked a sense of cultural connection and belonging. By night, string lights, globes, and Christmas tree stars cast shadows across the environment, activating both the space and its visitors.

As light projected onto the surrounding materials, viewers and their surroundings became part of the work. The installation connected ideas of home and memory with the histories of the site and the audience. Visitors were invited to pose for photographs in the archway, placing themselves among the stories and memories embedded in each object.
