Artist Bio
HYBYCOZO (Pronounced hib-e-co-zo) is the collaborative studio of artists Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk. Based in Los Angeles, their work consists of larger than life geometric sculptures, often with pattern and texture that draw on inspirations from mathematics, science, and natural phenomena. Typically illuminated, the work celebrates the inherent beauty of form and pattern and represents their ongoing journey in exploring myriad dimensions of geometry. Ever since their first works in 2014, light and shadow have become a critical element of their practice as it expands their work beyond the physical medium. The name HYBYCOZO was the title of their first installation in 2014 and they continue to create together under this guise.
