Polymery (pronounced pole-lim-mur-ee) is an installation of five sculptures that cast light and shadow far and wide, creating a patterned field of constantly evolving color mixing on the ground. During the day, the flower-like pods invite the viewer to look upwards at their curving, mirrored surfaces to see warped visions of the surrounding environment. At night, the flowers bloom, each casting its petals of light far across the ground and inspiring exploration.

Inside the Installation: Polymery’s pods exhibit an artistic abstraction of six-fold symmetry, seen in all organic chemistry and many flower structures. Each light in Polymery emits around 34 times more light than a typical household bulb. Additionally, the installation projects five unique organic patterns onto the ground, drawn by the artist.
