This sculpture celebrates woodland animals. Re-imagined as 3-dimensional sculptures hand forged in aluminum. Each animal appears as a ‘double’, one image mirrors the other; the exterior sculpture is painted a dramatic matte black with two animals facing one another.

The Woodlands After Dark is a collaboration between Adam Monture and Jeremy Freiburger of Cobalt Connects. The sculptures are hand-made by Freiburger and are re-imagined versions of Monture’s stunning paintings. The series depicts woodland animals such as loons, bears, otters, deer, heron, frogs and turtles in aluminum with LEDs on the back that illuminate the sculptures when it is dark.
Adam is a Mohawk artist from the Six Nations reserve where he lives with his wife & five children. A carpenter by trade he enjoys spending time painting and being with his family. He is an entirely self-taught artist whose medium of choice is acrylic on canvas using various vibrant colours.
